The Key is a small cube, the size of a small apple, but perfectly square. It is cut with outstanding precision from granite and inlaid with fine silver patterns formed in an ancient Elven style. At first glance, it looks like Elven writing, but if studied very closely, they are actually tiny illustrations, depicting all manner of destruction, from volcanos and tsunamis to war and famine.
The object is highly magical, yet its nature is veiled. Attempts to detect its powers and purpose, will reveal simply that it is a key, and that it requires a lock to work. It will also state that the lock is currently engaged, and that there have been no breaches since the lock was engaged.
This artifact was found in Elderburg, in General Florian’s crypt in the Temple of Lantira. It is known that a mystery lady was seeking this artifact, and during the exploration of the ruined city, the Treldor Historic Society also met an expedition from the Arcanum, which they suspect was also aimed at finding The Key.
